The easiest way is to take a local train from Howrah station towards Bardhaman — get off at Uttarpara or Hind Motor station (30-40 min journey, frequent services). By road, it's a 45-minute drive via GT Road (NH-16). Ferry services also connect from Belur or Dakshineswar across the Hooghly.

It's also famous for the historic Hindustan Motors factory where the iconic Ambassador car was manufactured, the Pancharatna terracotta temple, the Rajbari (zamindar mansion), Bhadrakali Temple, and its scenic Hooghly river ghats.
